Youth Outreach Programme

We have developed a range of new outreach activities for school children and young people:-

For Years 5 and 6:-

To mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, we have developed an interactive session called Propaganda, Poetry and Remembrance. Using the Museum's collection and heritage, we examine the reasons people went to war, how they came to terms with their experiences and why we remember.

For Years 7 to 11:-

Our Hands-On History Roadshow uses the Museum's collection and expertise to guide students through the tools of analysing historical sources and creating historical fiction. We can support a wide range of specific social history subjects including AQA - Britain: Health and the people: c1000 to the present day Edexcel – Medicine in Britain, c1250 to the present day.

For young people:-

We now offer free Presentation Skills training for young people as they seek to develop the confidence and skills they will need to thrive in interview situations and in the workplace.

With the generous support of the British and Foreign School Society, we are able to offer these sessions at highly-competitive rates.
