Meetings
We have two meeting rooms and a classroom available...
We have two meeting rooms available, and a classroom well-suited to lectures.
'The Meeting Room'- This room holds 45 seated in a 'theatre style' layout, or up to 25 in a boardroom, U-shape or classroom style set up. There is an integrated projector & screen, and also a PA system, DVD player and hearing loop. The tearoom is adjacent and can be made available for you either to do your own catering, or for us to do it for you. The room is on the ground floor and fully accessible, nearby the accessible toilet.
'The Monitorial Schoolroom'- This room holds up to 120 seated theatre style, and also lends itself well to a 'cabaret style' layout of tables, comfortably accommodating approximately 80. There is a portable projector, large portable screen, and portable PA system available for use. A 'pop-up' cafe can be arranged for your catering, which can be situated in a separate room, immediately off the schoolroom. The room is fully accessible to wheelchairs, and the accessible toilet will also be made available for your use.
'The Galleried Classroom'- This atmospheric room is a perfect location for a lecture, seating approximately 25 at authentic, Victorian desks. A screen, projector and PA system are available to use, and the tearoom (although situated in a different building) can also be used. *Please note that this room is not wheelchair accessible.

Events
The Museum is the perfect place to hold your event...
With all of the space we have to offer, the Museum is the perfect place to hold your event.
The Monitorial Schoolroom is perfect for larger events, is fully accessible, and has plenty of tables and chairs for your use. Past events in here have included: auctions, cinema screenings, parties, dance & dinners- even a beer festival!
The Meeting Room is a more neutral, modern space, and is well suited to more intimate events, or those that require use of the adjacent tearoom for catering. Past events include: children's birthday parties, lectures, AGMs, film showings and afternoon teas.
The whole museum site has been used on occasion, and has used all of the buildings and the playground. We have had a beer festival, literary festival, and a children's literary festival so far, and more events are to follow. The playground grants additional space as the centre of your event, and can fit a few catering vans if necessary. Contact us to enquire about your event.
Ghost hunts have become increasingly popular of late, and the whole museum site can be opened to host your evening. Early evenings and late nights are available, so book your ghost hunt now to find out if there are any spooky happenings here!

Filming Location
Perfect for any Victorian or spooky-themed films...
The atmospheric surroundings are perfect for any Victorian or spooky-themed films, just as the historical significance of the museum is well-suited to documentaries.
We have been a filming location on a number of occasions, including: the 'Just William' TV series, 'Antiques Roadtrip', and more recently ITV's, 'Grantchester'. There are times of the year when we are closed to the public, and this may be the perfect time for you to film here- contact us if you are looking for a spectacular and unique location for your production.
