We are always happy to hear from organisations or individuals who would like to hire one of our unique historic spaces. Over the years we have hosted everything from History Society AGMs to Board Game Clubs weekly get togethers, corporate away days to annual book festivals!
The Monitorial Schoolroom
This room holds up to 120 seated theatre style, and also lends itself well to a 'cabaret style' layout of tables, comfortably accommodating approximately 80. There is a portable projector, large portable screen, and portable PA system available for use. A buffét or 'pop-up' cafe can be arranged for your catering, which can be situated in the Schoolroom or a separate room, immediately off to the side. The room is fully accessible to wheelchairs, and the accessible toilet will also be made available for your use.
The Gallery Classroom*
This atmospheric Victorian room is a perfect location for a lecture, seating approximately 30 at authentic, Victorian desks. A screen, projector and PA system are available to use. *Please note that this room is not wheelchair accessible.
The Café @ The Museum:
Our Play Café space can be booked outside of the Café standard hours, so from 2.30 on weekdays and from 3.30 at the weekend. A warm, welcoming space, seating can be arranged for boardroom style meetings, lecture-style chair rows, or remain as individual café tables for clubs and societies to use.
