On March 9th in partnership with Next Page Books the British Schools Museum is hosting a celebration of all things literary!
With talks by children's authors, story-telling sessions, craft activities and more, there'll be plenty of things to keep your little ones busy!
We are super excited to have four wonderful authors lined up for the festival:
There will be two authors talks in the morning:
- Ian Eagleton and Paula Harrison (Suitable for age 3+ and 5+)
and two in the afternoon:
- Frances Durkin and A. M. Dassu (most suitable for ages 7-12).
Families can buy a morning ticket, or an afternoon, or an all day ticket.
Each author will be giving a talk, followed by questions and signing.
In between sessions there will be book-themed crafts, story-telling sessions with amazing local theatre company Imajica Theatre, face painting, and a wonderful grand finalé performance at 3.15 by the children's choir of Stagecoach Performing Arts!
"We are proud to support an inclusive, immersive event for local children and allow their imaginations to be inspired by the stories from local authors"
"Raymond James Hitchin are thrilled to sponsor the Children’s Book Festival. It’s important that the skill of story telling, reading and creativity is encouraged at an early age, so events like this really bring books to life for future generations, giving them skills for life."
