Experience a Victorian Lesson in a Box!
If you can't make it into the Museum, we have a variety of handling objects that can be loaned out. The undoubted star of the show is our 'Victorian Lesson in a Box'.
This contains not only a full Victorian lesson plan for both KS1 or KS2, but also a slate & slate pencil for each child, Victorian pennies, example sheets, ink, dip pens, and more to allow you to re-create a classroom of 150 years ago for your children.
Together with helpful set-up tips, and a list of 'further ideas' to take your history session forward into your other topics, it is a wonderful way to experience a little of the past for those that cannot make it into the Museum for our full school trips.
We also have boxes of genuine historic artefacts for handling from kitchen, to toys through time, to household, so if you have a particular project in mind contact us for a chat.
